Bowing Wall Repair
Bowing (or bulging) walls are walls that have suffered decreased stability, causing them to bend away from vertical. This is often a result of poor wall construction, such as insufficient wall thickness or a lack of wall ties connecting the inner and outer leafs. However, external influences should be factored in such as increased floor loading or additional ground vibration due to new travel infrastructure.
Often, we are able to fix bowing walls by using Target Fixings' Bow Flex. This is a lateral restraint tie that is fixed into the first floor joists, and can be fixed in a few hours with no internal disruption by using a hidden fixing through the outside of the wall.
